This Lake Lure elopement was nothing short of amazing. It was predicted that the fall colors would not be as vibrant and the weather was looking a little rough. However, when I made my way to the secluded cabin, the sky opened up to a beautiful golden day and the foliage was spectacular.
Nicole and Matt shared a sweet first look beneath the falling leaves and exchanged their personal vows. After an emotional first look, the couple had a private and intimate ceremony at the base of the mountains with their daughter, Lily, and fur baby, Alice, by their sides. Might I add, there was quite the ladybug infestation and we were all covered most of the day (I hear ladybugs are good luck, so that made it more exciting).
After capturing their gorgeous portraits, Nicole and Matt toasted to the day and cut into their cake. Love and laughter was spilling into the mountains and Nicole had one more surprise. She put on a fabulous hooded cloak, while Lily had a fur shawl, and we ventured down into the pines to create some wintery magic.
These two have experienced some of life’s toughest trials, and have come out the other side stronger than ever. Their sweet and romantic ceremony was a reflection of their strong and new beginning as husband and wife and I couldn’t be happier for them.
