Some sessions stay with you long after the images are delivered. This one will stay with me forever.
Wyatt was born in August, but his story was never meant to follow a timeline. His due date wasn’t until October, and the months leading up to his arrival were filled with uncertainty, prayer, and strength far beyond what anyone should have to carry.
My niece, Mackenzie, experienced multiple pregnancy complications and was rushed to Mission Hospital, where she endured a life-threatening labor and birth. When Wyatt arrived far earlier than expected, he entered the world already proving just how strong he was. What followed were many long weeks in the NICU – days filled with waiting, hoping, and trusting that this tiny baby would keep fighting.
And fight he did.
Wyatt amazed everyone with his resilience. Step by step, milestone by milestone, he grew stronger until the day he finally came home – a moment that felt nothing short of miraculous.
This lifestyle session took place once Wyatt was home, surrounded by the quiet comfort of family, familiar walls, and so much love. There’s something incredibly powerful about photographing a baby who has already overcome so much, and yet, you’d never know it by his smile. Wyatt is pure joy. He is calm, content, and genuinely one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met.
Watching Mackenzie and her husband, Wesley, step into parenthood has been one of the greatest joys of my life. They have been featured on this blog many times over the years, but this session – this chapter – is the most special of all. Seeing them hold their son, laugh together, and settle into life as a family of three is a reminder of what truly matters.
This session wasn’t just about photos. It was about celebrating strength and capturing the beauty of a long-awaited homecoming.
Wyatt, you are so deeply loved. Your story is one of courage, hope, and grace – and I am endlessly grateful I got to document the beginning of this chapter.
Welcome home, sweet boy 🤍

You are amazing at what you do! My home is filled with memories captured by you and I’m forever thankful for that!
