Balloon Inspired Wedding: Southern Bride Magazine Feature

The goal of this balloon inspired styled wedding was to create a fresh feel on wedding decor and give brides some inspiration outside of floral decor.

Charlotte’s top balloon designer came on board to bring our vision to life with a circular balloon arbor, which was accented with greenery and gold hoops. The balloon and floral designers also incorporated a balloon photobooth in the reception space to tie in the entire theme.

This unique shoot needed a unique venue.  Vesuvius Vineyards was the perfect venue for this balloon inspired wedding.

The home known as Vesuvius proudly sits as the oldest standing home in Lincoln County, NC. Built in 1792 by General Joseph Graham, Vesuvius has seen over 200 years of American history. Located on the property are the remnants of the iron furnace built by Graham in 1795. This was one of the first of many furnaces built in Lincoln County that helped to produce many different types of iron works well into the 1800’s. Joseph Graham and his family played a big role in North Carolina politics and industry. Most notably, his son William Graham served as Governor of North Carolina, Secretary of the Navy, and was a vice President candidate. The home is on the National Historic Registry listing and still maintains most of its original structure and architecture.

The white, silver, and gold touches paired beautifully with this historic venue and really gave it an elegant winter vibe – perfect for a holiday wedding.  The ceremony space was a sweet, little white chapel with open walls.  While the reception space was a large, covered patio that is attached to the historic home, and overlooking the river.

The sweetheart table had a gold sequined tablecloth and topped with loose greenery, candles, and gold place settings.  Each place setting had a magnolia leaf with the guest’s name hand-painted on to give a personal touch to each plate.

The bride wore a fitted designer gown with pearl sleeves.  Incorporating a white fur shawl to the look helped to bring a winter vibe to the shoot.  With such an extraordinary venue, we needed a showstopping prop!  A local resident brought in a classic 1964 GTO and it was the highlight of the day!

If brides are searching for something fun and unique for their big, day this is the ticket!  Balloons are not just for birthday parties anymore – so, recruit a balloon designer and have your guests talking about the décor for years to come!  You can view the Southern Bride Magazine feature here!
