Downtown Greenville Engagements: Lauren + Daniel

This Downtown Greenville engagement is so special to me!  I met Lauren several years ago at a wedding – she was the maid of honor.  After spending the day together, you would have thought we had been friends for years.  Before I left the wedding she told me that I would be photographing her wedding one day.

Several weeks ago, I saw that she was recently engaged and prayed that she would reach out.  So when her message came through about wedding photography, I started squealing with excitement!

Lauren and Daniel met at a Gardner-Webb football tailgate on September 1st, 2018 – with her entire family there!  They all got to meet him when she did!  Two of Lauren’s good friends brought him along to the tailgate and introduced them.  The two ended up hanging out with friends and talking until 2am.

“If you knew me I didn’t date anyone for 9 years and for me to talk to someone that long was a miracle!!  Plus what made it so much sweeter and gave my whole family goosebumps was, my grandfather that passed and I was so close with, his name was Daniel Melvin Scoggins. My Daniel’s name is Daniel Coggins and his dad’s name is Melvin Coggins. It was so crazy and just what we felt was my Papa’s approval.  Cheesy, but it meant a lot to my family and I!”

Now if that doesn’t give you chills, I don’t know what will!  On to the proposal story…

Daniel showed up at the house, all dressed up.  “Better Together,” by Luke Combs, was playing on the record player.  With Lauren’s family by her side, he got down on one knee and proposed with her grandmother’s ring.  To top that off, he also got her a puppy!  Lauren said, “I got a puppy and a fiance in the same day!”  Daniel told her that he was going for the “trifecta” and wanted to propose in Charleston, but couldn’t work it out.  However, they did go to Charleston to celebrate the following weekend so I’d say it was the ultimate trifecta!

These two couldn’t be more perfect for each other!  He has a lot of personality and she is more calm and laid back.  What a blessing to become a part of their wedding journey and I’m ecstatic to share their engagement session with you today!

XOXO,
