In honor of Allison and Aaron’s one-year anniversary, I wanted to share part of their wedding story with you!  (Yes, I’m a little late getting their beautiful day on the blog, but in my defense I did not have my new website up and running when they got married!)

I remember their wedding day like it was yesterday!!  As Allison stepped into her gorgeous lace gown, with her best friend and mother by her side, we all became very emotional as she began to place her mother’s cathedral veil in her hair.

The ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia and it absolutely took my breath away!  Allison is a pastor and chaplain so having part of the ceremony dedicated to honor all of her mentors and all of the pastors attending the wedding was of great importance.

The couple had a unity ceremony and where they broke bread together and then invited the congregation to come forward and join them.  It was truly amazing to witness (although I was only allowed in the balcony to photograph the ceremony, I felt as if I were right there with them)!!

The ceremony was followed by the most unique reception at the incredible Schiele Museum.  The couple even shared their first dance under the HUGE t-rex and also had their wedding cake designed to look like an amethyst geode!  You don’t want to miss that so stay with me until the end!  🙂
