Smithview Pavilion Wedding: Mallory + Tobias

It’s hard to even know where to start with this beautiful wedding at Smithview Pavilion!  I first met Mallory and Tobias back in December of 2019 when they reached out about a couples session (you can check it out here).  I immediately knew that they were going to be more than clients – they were going to become my friends!  About a year later, Tobias reached out about planning a proposal at Limestone University.

Mallory and Tobias first met while attending Limestone together and they were both on the swim team.  It was love at first sight for these two and it shows in their pictures!  After the surprise proposal, we started planning their Biltmore engagement session and then onto Mallory’s stunning bridal session in downtown Knoxville!

Mallory is from Knoxville so it was only fitting to plan the wedding in her hometown.  She is a huge Tennessee fan so when I arrived at the hotel she had put together the most fun gift baskets for the guests!  Everything in the gift basket was local to the area and she even had custom TN shaped cookies made and the cutest custom door hangers!  You’ll have to stick with me until the end to see all of the goodies!

The blush and navy color palette, with pops of gold, paired beautifully with this venue.  There were so many custom details that I was in heaven!  Each place setting had a wood carved name of each guest and the favors were glass jars of local honey.  There were touches of Disney, as well as a cigar bar for the guys!  Tobias even had a custom suit made and wore a traditional German coat!  The elegant centerpieces were to die for and Mallory designed and planned most everything herself!  The ceremony site was tucked off to the side and surrounded by a quiet stream.

After an exciting first look at the property’s stone bridge, we started into portraits.  They even had a classic Thunderbird brought in to use for portraits and their exit!  The ceremony was so sweet and emotional!  The couple had written their own vows and it brought us all to tears!  After becoming husband and wife, Mallory and Tobias danced down the aisle as the guests threw confetti!

After the first dance and dinner, the two participated in a German tradition of sawing a log together.  Tobias is from Germany and only his parents were able to attend the wedding.  So when it came time for the toasts, they surprised Tobias and rolled out a TV.  When the video started rolling, it was dozens of individual clips from family members giving a toast and congratulating the couple!  It was the sweetest!!

I can’t tell you what an honor it has been to be a part of their incredible wedding journey and I’m so excited to share it with you today!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Feigl!!
