I will be forever swooning over Emily and Justin’s wedding at Rock Creek Mill! The colors, the setting, the people, and the vendors were incredible! The classic soft blues paired beautifully with the vibrant florals (this might be my new favorite color scheme)! And just wait until you see Emily’s custom yellow sapphire engagement ring!

When I arrived, it was pouring rain. However, we were all in great spirits and worked together to create a rain plan. Emily was determined to do their first look outside, by the waterfall, so we patiently waited and watched the radar. Although it looked like the rain had set in for the rest of the day, would you know that the sun popped out and the rain cleared.

We had just enough time before the ceremony to do the first look and most of the portraits. Emily and Justin had no problem wading through the mud and standing water for the best portrait settings!

The first look was an emotional one and Justin was fighting back tears before he even saw Emily. After wiping the tears, they did a private vow reading – even I was on the verge of tears!

One of my favorite reception touches was the rock candy at each place setting. Emily and Justin are both geologists so this fun party favor was perfect for them. They also had individually wrapped “his” and “hers” cookies, by the famous Appalachia Cookie Company, for the guests to grab on their way out. I may have snagged one to snack on for my drive home! 😉

Working with Emily and Justin has been an absolute dream and I’m incredibly honored to have been a part of their amazing day!
